Northstar Lodge is a spacious, rustic, four bedroom, 3 full bath custom log home located in Clark, Colorado, 25 miles north of Steamboat Springs and wonderful downhill skiing. We are in North Routt County, right in the heart of the area's best snow-shoeing and cross country skiing, not to mention hiking, ice-fishing, fly-fishing and just relaxing. We are 30 miles south of the Wyoming border, and within 2 hours of some great day trips in the summer while the Wyoming roads are still open. Sometimes there are problems with notifications from VRBO. If you don't hear from me within a few hours of your inquiry, please email or text me directly, roselynnscott27@gmail.com or 817.807.6748. With magnificent views of the Zirkle Mountains, it is designed for comfort and relaxation for families and larger groups. Our region is host to numerous outdoor activities for your enjoyment, including fishing and other water activities, hiking and biking, horseback riding and pack trips, snow-shoeing, and downhill skiing. All year long you can enjoy the refreshingly clean and clear air and countless stars like you may never have seen before. Late at night you can see the Milky Way in the wonderful dark sky. Summer is graced with Colorado's glorious wildflowers, and autumn plays host to all those spectacular aspens. The snow and evergreens make for a postcard perfect Christmas and Holiday season. There is no bad season here. We have several good restaurants nearby if you don't feel like cooking or driving to Steamboat. Several of the local restaurants have live music on weekends. The Hahn's Peak Cafe and the Hahn's Peak Roadhouse have delicious food at reasonable prices...happy hours, too. To the south is the Glen Eden Tavern and the Clark Store, our 'everything store'...in addition to the usual convenience foodstuffs, they have a delicious deli and coffee shop, library, post office, liquor store, gift shop and wi-fi spot. There are also plenty of current magazines near the old wood burning stove...you can read while having a coffee and a snack.....watch for their home-made pies! In the summer, they have the ice-cream parlor on the outside deck....if you are early you can grab a Denver Post or the free local Steamboat Today newspaper. Our kitchen is ready for you to cook YOUR favorite dishes, and is well stocked with utensils and heavy duty stainless steel pots and pans, and more. We are constantly updating everything....we love this home and want you to, also. The deck and covered porch have plenty of chairs, a propane barbecue grill, and a couple of rustic tables for outdoor dining. All you need to bring is your food and drinks and your clothes and toiletries. The den can be closed off so that some guests can read or watch movies without disturbing others. In the summer, you can watch the 'hummingbird wars' on the front porch. We have numerous bird feeders and birdseed that attract other local birds. Our home library contains books about the history of our area, our wildflowers, birds, etc., in addition to plenty of other good reads. The back door leads to a perfect 2 mile hike...a loop that takes you to another view of the Zirkels, and also of Sand Mountain, Elk Mountain and more. In the aspens, you can frequently spot the gorgeous Colorado State flower, the blue and white columbine amid the tall ferns and evergreens. In the summer, we call Steamboat Lake our 'beach'...great place to take a picnic and go swimming. Hahn's Peak Lake and Pearl Lake are peaceful and beautiful, and with the right permit, you can go fishing, too. The Clark Store, Hahn's Peak Roadhouse and the Steamboat Lake Visitor's Center have the permit information and can sell you the permit needed. Hahn's Peak Village is just 4 miles north on Routt Co. 129. In addition to good food, you can check out some of the original turn of the last century miner's cabins, the one room school, the old jail and more. Steamboat Lake is right across the road. For the adventurous, you can hike to the top of Hahn's Peak, 10,839 feet. It takes about 2 hours to climb up and about an hour to come down. An old Ranger station is on top of the peak, and the views are incredible. Always check the weather before starting a climb, weather can change in an instant. It can snow or hail any day of the year....I've seen both on the Fourth of July more than once....be prepared! A sweater or jacket is always a good idea, even in the summer. A few more miles to the north is Columbine, Colorado and a wonderful old mining camp that is now available for year-round rentals. Right after Columbine, Routt Co. 129 turns into a 2 lane dirt road all the way to the Wyoming border. This is only open in non-snow season. The stars at night are so spectacular....if you haven't seen Colorado skies at night, you need to. In summer, you will see the Milky Way like never before, and if you are used to city skies, be prepared to be astounded by the beauty and clarity of our clear, dark and beautiful skies. If you need help with special events, such as planning a reunion or a wedding, we can help you with finding an appropriate location and the details such as caterers, etc. to make your event memorable and enjoyable. We hope you will consider our cabin YOUR cabin, and that you will return often. Keywords: cabin, lodge, log, timber, mountain, weddings, Zirkels, relaxation, reunions, retreats, beautiful, spacious,

Nestled at the base of majestic Hahns Peak in Northern Colorado, 24 miles north of Steamboat Springs, our Steamboat Lake Colorado High Country Getaway offers visitors the use of our (2008) timber-framed home. Clean air, blue Colorado sky, and plenty of excellent recreational opportunities abound. The absolutely wonderful scenery--including nearby peaks, the Continental Divide, lush green valleys, and colorful alpine wildflowers--make our unique area picturesque year-round. Visit Steamboat Lake State Park for a current webcam shot of the area. •Summers find locals and visitors alike hiking, mountain biking, dirt biking, four-wheeling, scenic and wildlife viewing, horseback riding, and just about any other outdoor activity you can think of. We have available a book called 'Hiking the 'Boat II' with plenty of adventures and are confident that you will truly enjoy your time here. Steamboat Lake State Park is just across the street offering premier fishing and boating to a full-service marina and swim beach. If fly fishing is your thing there are many nearby lakes, streams, and rivers to choose from. Summer arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and the nights are ordinarily in the '40s. •Autumn is a gorgeous time in the Rockies with breathtaking scenery. Our Aspens tend to 'turn' about the third weekend in September with the shorter days and cooler weather. Although Indian summers are frequent we usually have at least one early snow at the beginning of September, but doesn't stick! Elk and deer seasons also start in September and run through November. •In winter, nearby Steamboat Springs Ski Resort offers some of Colorado's best skiing. All around Hahns Peak and Steamboat Lake you'll find a winter wonderland with over 140 miles of groomed snowmobiling and cross-country skiing trails. This region is one of Colorado's more snowy areas. Through the winter the highs are mostly in the '20s; through the dark hours in the winter temperatures drop to the 0's. A little history of our village...The original Hahns Peak was founded close to the shores of Steamboat Lake in 1865 during Colorado's gold and silver rush days and was the original County Seat of Routt County. Hahns Peak Village today offers visitors a stroll through Colorado's colorful past and offers residents a peaceful & historic residential life. Be sure to visit the Hahns Peak Historical Museum and original schoolhouse! The locals have opted to preserve the original quiet residential character of the town and shy away from the commercial tourism development typical of many old Colorado mountain towns. The entire area around Hahns Peak and Steamboat Springs is one of the best vacation destinations in Colorado and we invite you to visit. We look forward to seeing you soon! Keywords: Located across from Steamboat Lake is our custom built (2008) timber-framed home, constructed from local materials. The trees were harvested from the property.

We have invested heavily in the ranch over the years and are proud of our major Lodge addition, classy Indoor Riding Arena, landscaping improvements and swimming pool. In addition, we are constantly rotating our cabins through an upgrade and updating process. With a philosophy of, “How can we make this better?”, there are always new projects on the horizon to meet the expectations of a well traveled guest who expects the best of a resort, but in our dude ranch setting. - In Room – Each accommodation offers a snack bar, refrigerator stocked with complimentary beverages, coffee maker, hairdryer, robes, plus much more.  And you read it right, there are no phones or TV’s in the accommodations. Wireless internet is available in the Main Lodge at no charge. - The Fitness Center offers an elliptical and treadmill as well as a multi-gym for strength training. Chances are, you’ll never visit this area as you can get a better workout with a better view on the trail! But it’s here for those times when you just need a gym fix. Yoga is also offered weekly. - The Swimming Pool gives you a place to relax and cool off at the end of the day, or when you’re just not ready for another adventure.  Please note the pool is closed during late-fall and all winter. - The Coyote Corral is where you’ll find the spacious Kid’s Cabin equipped with crafts and plenty of outdoor games. The kids pretty much own this area, but the adults can resort to bribes for entrance into the Kid’s Cabin. - The Great Room is an area for lounging as well as gathering with other guests and staff during Happy Half-Hour daily and some of our evening programs. With beautiful views of the “Sunday pasture” and a great roaring fire in the winter months, it’s elegant and spacious, yet warm and inviting. - Indoor Riding Arena – Our huge and airy indoor riding arena is a great place to meet up with our horse trainers for a clinic. It’s cool in the summer and heated in the winter so you and your horse can focus on learning more together. Summer & Autumn Activities  The summer guest ranch season at Vista Verde runs from June through late October. The first part of the summer is designed for family vacations, and September and October are when we offer our autumn adult-only weeks. What makes a ranch vacation at Vista Verde unique is the flexibility and personalized attention that goes into each experience. Our diverse selection of activities can make it hard to choose what to do each day, but the planning is made easy as we simply come around each evening and ask “What do you want to do tomorrow?”  Your day, your way! The wranglers and guides will go out of their way to tailor each experience to your interest, ability, and fitness level. Top-notch gear and equipment are provided, and you’ll get plenty of instruction to help you master a new skill, or build on existing skills. Cabin (2200 sq. ft.) in Columbine, CO
3.6 miles from Pearl Lake
Mountain High is a 2,200 square foot log home with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and a large sleeping loft plus a covered deck with comfortable seating. It sleeps 6 in the bedrooms and 4 with ample room in the loft. The cabin sits on 10 acres of forested land on the upper slope of a mountain overlooking Hahn’s Peak to the east and Wyoming mountains to the north. The drive up to the cabin from 129 takes about 10-15 minutes and weaves through aspen and pine forests. The road is not paved so while sedans do drive up there, a car with adequate ground clearance is suggested. The views are stunning: you can occasionally see hikers climbing Hahn’s Peak, and during thunderstorms in Wyoming you can see the sheet lightening illuminating the clouds and mountains in the distance. There is nothing quite like it. If you want to stay in the valleys of the Steamboat area, don’t stay here; this is true mountain living at its best. You look down at the world from here, not up. Located on a private road used mostly in the winter by cross-country skiers, you will find total privacy and quiet: no cars whizzing by. Three bedrooms are located downstairs: two with queen sized beds and one with a double bed, plus two full bathrooms, one with an over-sized bathtub. On the main floor is a huge living room/dining room and kitchen surrounded on two sides by walls of windows. The dining room table sits 8 plus there is a second table that can join to it and add two more for a total of 10 seats at the table. An efficient wood stove is available for cold mornings, though the sun warms the place quickly. A circular staircase takes you up to a large sleeping loft with two beds and several Japanese futons. A large deck with cushioned patio chairs and a table sits outside the living room on the Hahn’s Peak side of the cabin. A large BBQ grill on the patio is available for your use. There is also a a fire circle just below the house that can be used to grill food (or marshmallows!) outside on cool evenings. Games such as Pictionary, chess, checkers, Monopoly, Global Pursuit, backgammon and others are stacked on shelves in the living room. A stereo system with CDs, books, and a small selection of some very difficult puzzles are also available, plus a large chest full of children’s toys and art supplies up in the loft. This is an artist’s residence so you are surrounded with antiques from Asia and South America as well as paintings and other artworks. Within a few miles you will find Pearl Lake, Steamboat Lake, Hahn’s Peak Lake, hiking galore, and Hahn’s Peak village for restaurants, a gas station, and other amenities. The Hahn’s Peak area is known for fishing, hunting, waterskiing and boating, biking and mountain biking, horse back riding, ATV tours, and of course, viewing wildlife. A 5 minute walk back through the woods gives you a view of Steamboat Lake, Pearl Lake, Hahn’s Peak Village, and Steamboat Mountain in the distance. Steamboat Springs is a well known skiers paradise, but is even more popular in the summer for its weekly rodeo, hot air ballooning, craft shows, music festivals, river rafting, fishing, biking as well as numerous restaurants and interesting gift shops. Cabin (1400 sq. ft.) in Steamboat Springs, CO
16.2 miles from Pearl Lake
The close proximity of both town and Nature, combined with the exceptional attributes of our one of a kind log cabin and the very fair price, make our home an unbeatable choice for those who long to get away from it all into the quiet of wide open spaces and skies of Northwestern Colorado, but with some added comfort. The first two things you will notice when you walk into our home is how full of light the house is and how you can't stop looking out the windows. Log cabins tend to be dark and a bit claustrophobic. Ours feels like a breath of fresh air. Each room, including the bathrooms, has it's own forever view. When you can tear yourself away from the windows you will notice how charming, tastefully and simply this house is furnished and how beautifully it has been crafted. There is no clutter or personal stuff. The closets and cabinets are empty and ready for your use! At the same time there is everything you need for your comfort. The kitchen is extremely well supplied. The master bedroom has a comfy king size bed and bath with shower and its own private deck. The twin bedroom can easily be turned into another king and it also has it's own bath with shower. IF you can tear yourself away from the views and night skies there is a 37 inch flat screen TV in the living room with a Direct TV subscription or a DVD player. There is also a 5CD player if music is how you choose to relax. There is also an internet wireless connection. If there is a chill in the air the wood stove/fireplace heats the whole house and augments the in floor heating. Outside on the large forever view deck there is an awning that can be unfurled to provide protection from the sun as you dine, read a book or watch the birds at the bird feeder. A barbecue allows you to cook outside in the summer. Usually people never want to leave to do anything else. In addition, the 70 surrounding acres gives you plenty of room to roam and explore. The elk frequently visit during both summer and winter and the coyotes are usually heard yipping in the distance as you sleep at night. South of Steamboat Springs around the ski area is especially crowded in both summer and winter. You will be in your own private Colorado in our one of a kind cabin on the hill.

**Discounts offered for weekly rentals** **Some amenities may not be available for guest use during certain periods. Please inquire with us if you have questions about a specific property amenity so that we can give you the most accurate information possible for your dates ** You've found a very unique and special property. This 1-Bedroom cabin is pet friendly and has a private hot tub, something you will have a hard time finding anywhere else in this area. It is located on a working ranch, so you could even bring a horse if you wanted too. The ranch is just 9 miles west of downtown Steamboat Springs, at the base of Elk Mountain, also known as "Sleeping Giant." ???????The ranch is quite close to the Elk River and its confluence with the Yampa River. This is a beautiful rural area that is pretty darn close and convenient to town. Access is pretty easy. You'll be on Highway 40 for all but the last 2 miles, which are on a well maintained, virtually flat Routt County road. The cabin was the first home on the ranch, so it is old and rustic, yet modernized in all the right ways. It features hardwood floors, a wood stove, a private hot tub, HDTV, and sleeper sofa. The private hot tub is right outside the cabin and provides a very relaxing place to do some stargazing. Summer guests will enjoy the extra bit of outdoor space provided by the paver patio. There are a few important things to know and consider before booking this property. Pets are welcome, when discussed & approved in advance. Please contact us before booking to discuss your pet or pets, as well as pet rules. The cabin is not huge and the bedroom ceiling is a bit low by the head of the bed, around 5 feet high there. This is a cozy cabin ideal for couples or tight knit group of 3 to 4. The bedroom is separated from the main living space, but there is no door for privacy. Depending upon time of year, this 2000 acre ranch is home to 100-200 head of cattle. You might see some and you might not. The cabin is quite close to the main ranch house, and your hosts. So you will have friendly neighbors close by, and help if you need something, but you will not have a cabin in complete solitude either. Though access is pretty easy, 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive is recommended in winter. Pets, Horses, ATVs, Snowmobiles are okay, and there's plenty of parking for trailers. Please inquire with any questions. Our highly trained Vacation Rental Specialists are here to help and available 7 days a week. If you book online we will be in touch to reconfirm the details of your reservation.
